What drives the load

  • FXServer's game logic is single-threaded, so a fast CPU clock speed matters more than core count once you pass a small server.
  • RAM use is driven mainly by installed resources (framework, scripts, MLOs) and streamed assets, not just player count; a heavy QBCore/ESX build with many custom maps needs far more than vanilla.
  • Servers with more than 48 slots require a paid Cfx.re Element Club subscription (Argentum for 64, Aurum for 128, Platinum for up to 2048), independent of your own hardware.
  • Use NVMe SSD storage; disk I/O for resource loading and streaming affects join times and can cause stutter under load.

FiveM server questions

How much RAM does a FiveM server need?

About 8 GB for 10 players and 48 GB for 300, before framework and scripts (esx/qbcore/vmenu, mlos). That is the memory of the plan Clouduxe sizes this player count on; cfx.re publishes no hardware figures.

How many CPU cores does a FiveM server need?

2 for 10 players, 12 for 300. The server is single-thread heavy, so the clock speed of one core matters more than how many cores it has. Clouduxe sizes cfx.re servers on dedicated EPYC cores, from its own table below.

How much bandwidth does a FiveM server use?

About 500 kbit/s of upload per connected player, so 24 Mbit/s with 48 players online and about 2.7 TB a month if 35% of that cap is online on average. No official per-player figure exists. A hosting-guide table gives recommended upload of 20-40 Mbps at 16-32 players and 50+ Mbps at 32+ players; ~500 kbps/player sustained upload (covering voice and streamed custom assets, not just position sync) reproduces that range (500*32=16Mbps, 500*64=32Mbps). Actual use varies a lot with voice chat and streamed content.

Which Clouduxe plan should I pick for FiveM?

For 48 players, VDS FusionCore fits the load and VDS OmniCore leaves room to grow. Every plan includes DDoS protection: 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation plus Clouduxe Prism on the server.
