Developer Bohemia Interactive basically recommends the following minimum setup for a dedicated server: Processor: Intel dual-core 2.4 GHz or AMD dual-core Athlon 2.5 GHz. Memory: at least 6 to 8 GB of RAM. Storage space: 2.5 gigabytes. ... For your DayZ instance, you should plan for around 80 to 120 Kbit/s per player.
How do you set up your own DayZ server? - IONOS (cites Bohemia Interactive's minimum spec)
For small servers (10-20 players) with vanilla setup: CPU: 4 cores @ 3.0GHz, RAM: 8GB, Storage: 30GB SSD, Bandwidth: 1-2 Mbps per player.

For medium servers (20-40 players) with some mods: CPU: 6-8 cores @ 3.5GHz+, RAM: 12-16GB, Storage: 40GB SSD, Bandwidth: 2-3 Mbps per player.

Heavy AI / mission server (40-60 players): CPU: 8+ cores, high clock, fast cache. RAM: 32-64 GB. Storage: 500+ GB NVMe, strong IOPS. Network: 1 Gbps port or higher.
Bohemia Interactive's own published minimum (dual-core CPU, 6-8GB RAM, ~2.5GB disk) is very low by modern standards and is not tied to a specific player count; it predates most community servers' actual usage. Real-world sizing above the minimum comes from hosting-provider guides, not a single official developer table. Mod load (Steam Workshop) causes the widest swings in actual resource use of any factor covered.

About 8.5 GB for 10 players and 13 GB for 100, before mods (steam workshop). Base 8GB matches both Bohemia Interactive's own minimum ('at least 6 to 8 GB of RAM', per IONOS) and hosting guides that put a 10-20 player vanilla server at 8GB. Per-player growth is kept small (50MB) because every source agrees mods, not player count, are the dominant driver of RAM use; the mods multiplier (1.7x some, 4.0x heavy) is what pushes the model from ~9-11GB vanilla up to the 16-32GB and 32-64GB tiers hosting guides cite for modded/AI-mission servers.
3 for 10 players, 16 for 100. The server is single-thread heavy, so the clock speed of one core matters more than how many cores it has. Bohemia's own minimum is a dual-core CPU. Every source stresses single-core/single-thread performance over core count (the server simulates world state, infected AI and physics on limited threads). playersPerExtraCore=7 climbs from the 2-core floor to about 4 cores by 15-20 players and 8-9 cores by 50-60, matching the 4-core minimum and 6-8+/8+ core recommendations from hosting guides at those tiers.
About 100 kbit/s of upload per connected player, so 6 Mbit/s with 60 players online and about 680 GB a month if 35% of that cap is online on average. IONOS explicitly recommends planning for 80-120 Kbit/s per player for a DayZ server (noting this is higher than Valve's general 53.4 Kbit/s per-player guideline for other dedicated server games); 100 kbps is the midpoint.
For 60 players, VDS TitanCore fits the load and VDS UltraCore leaves room to grow. Every plan includes DDoS protection: 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation plus Clouduxe Prism on the server.
