Published requirements

How the model is built

Memory
5 GB plus 270 MB per player. A hosting guide gives three tiers: 8GB for 5-15 players, 12GB for 16-30, 16GB for 31-50. baseGB=5 plus 270MB per player reproduces roughly 7.7GB at 10 players, 11.2GB at 23 players, and 15.8GB at 40 players, tracking those tiers within reason. Stunlock Studios' own server instructions do not publish a RAM figure.
CPU
4 cores, one more for every 10 players. The server runs primarily on two main threads (game logic and networking), so clock speed matters far more than core count. A hosting guide's tiers move from 4 cores (5-15 players) to 4-6 cores (16-30) to 6+ cores (31-50); baseCores=4 with one extra core per 10 players reaches 6 cores by 30 players and 8 by 50, consistent with those tiers.
Disk
5 GB for the server plus 55 GB for saves and backups, on SSD or NVMe. A hosting guide covering server setup describes needing a few GB of free disk space for the server files plus save data; a separate tiered guide recommends 20GB SSD for a small server up to 60GB SSD for a full 31-50 player world. installGB=5 plus growthGB=55 reaches that 60GB figure for a large, long-running world.
Bandwidth
800 kbit/s of upload per player. Derived by dividing each tier's stated upload bandwidth by its upper player count: 10 Mbps for up to 15 players (about 667kbps/player), 25 Mbps for up to 30 (about 833kbps/player), 50 Mbps for up to 50 (1000kbps/player). Averages to roughly 800kbps per connected player.
Mods (BepInEx)
Memory times 1.3 for some and 1.6 for heavy; a heavy load also adds a core.

Stunlock Studios' official server instructions cover configuration and ports but publish no CPU/RAM/disk hardware requirements. The hardware model here comes from a widely used hosting guide's tiered breakdown by player count. Modded servers (BepInEx) are common in the community but no source gives modded resource figures, so the mods multipliers are an estimate.

Before you set it up. The ports it listens on and what the guides say drives its load.

What drives the load

  • V Rising's server logic runs mainly on two threads (game logic and networking), so a high-clock CPU (recent Intel i5/i7 or Ryzen 5/7) outperforms a chip with more, slower cores.
  • RAM use grows with active castles, servants, and explored territory, not just player count, so a long-running world needs more than a fresh one with the same player count.
  • The Steam-shipped ServerHostSettings.json defaults to UDP ports 9876 (game) and 9877 (query); Stunlock's own setup instructions show 27015/27016 as illustrative example values for the same settings, since both are fully configurable.
  • MaxConnectedUsers can technically be set as high as 128, but hosting guides only publish tested hardware guidance up to about 50 players; treat higher counts as unverified.

V Rising server questions

How much RAM does a V Rising server need?

About 6.5 GB for 5 players and 18.5 GB for 50, before mods (bepinex).

How many CPU cores does a V Rising server need?

4 for 5 players, 8 for 50. The server is single-thread heavy, so the clock speed of one core matters more than how many cores it has.

How much bandwidth does a V Rising server use?

About 800 kbit/s of upload per connected player, so 12 Mbit/s with 15 players online and about 1.4 TB a month if 35% of that cap is online on average.

Which Clouduxe plan should I pick for V Rising?

For 15 players, VDS OmniCore fits the load and VDS PrimeCore leaves room to grow. Every plan includes DDoS protection: 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation plus Clouduxe Prism on the server.
