Deploy FusionCoreAbout FusionCoreWindows Server 2025, 2022 and 2019 in Mumbai, the nearest of our three regions to India, on the AMD EPYC 4584PX at up to 5.7 GHz with DDR5 memory and NVMe storage. Remote Desktop traffic passes 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation and Prism before Windows sees it, and choosing Windows adds nothing to the plan price.

India, and its neighbours Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Bhutan. Mumbai is the only one of the three regions on the subcontinent. The table runs from Ahmedabad, 440 km from Mumbai, to Dubai at 1,935 km.
Each distance is great-circle, city centre to city centre. The floor is that distance there and back at 200,000 km/s, the speed of light in fibre: no connection can be faster, and real routes are longer. It is a physical floor, not a measured or promised ping.
For a remote desktop or a trading terminal, that is you and your team; for a .NET app or a game server, your users. Users mostly in Southeast Asia? See the Singapore page

Windows Server uses more memory for itself than a minimal Linux install, so none of these starts on Nano, the 2 GB plan. Every size runs Windows Server: see all 8 VPS plans, or VDS plans for cores allocated to your server alone. Prices are monthly, exclude GST and are the same in every region.

A new server lets ports without a rule through, so Remote Desktop answers from the start. Add a rule for it anyway: rate limits and protocol checks only apply to a port that has one. Protocol validation is off on a rule you add by hand; switch it on once you can test a connection. Protocol validation
Block IP on the Firewall tab drops everything from an address or range before it reaches the server. The whitelist is not an access list: it lets a source skip rate limits and behavioural filtering, and closes the port to no one. Blocking and allowing IPs
Scoping Remote Desktop to your own address needs an address that does not change, such as a VPN you run on another server. VPN and remote desktop
Before it reaches Windows
Upstream mitigationUpstream
Drops floods too big for the link.
17 Tbps of mitigation capacity, the same on every plan.
Layer 3, the addressPrism
Drops blocked sources and malformed packets, at the lowest possible cost.
Block IP on the Firewall tab adds an address or range to the blocked sources, with an optional expiry.
Layer 4, the transportPrism
Drops spoofed and stateless floods, and traffic above the ceilings on your port rules.
On a TCP rule, the TCP fingerprint engine also drops SYNs whose TCP stack fingerprint looks forged.
Layer 7, Remote DesktopPrism, on your rule
Drops traffic on the port that does not speak the Remote Desktop protocol.
Off on a rule you add by hand: switch Protocol validation (L7) on once you can test a connection.

Windows Firewall scopeWindows
Drops every address outside the scope you give the Remote Desktop rules.
The change with the largest effect in the hardening guide.
Network Level AuthenticationWindows
Drops clients that cannot sign in before Windows builds them a session.
On by default on current Windows Server images. Check rather than assume.
Account lockoutWindows
Drops password guessing past the threshold.
The guide's example locks an account for 15 minutes after 10 failures within 15 minutes.
Your own admin accountWindows
Drops attempts that guess Administrator with passwords from leaked lists.
Disable or rename the built-in Administrator once your own account works, and use a long random password nothing else uses.
Your Remote Desktop session
1
Download the .rdp file from Quick connect on the server's overview and sign in as Administrator with the password from your activation email. Connecting to your server
2
Port 3389 is scanned continuously and the attempts try Administrator first, so the emailed password goes before anything else. Then the time zone, the hostname, Windows Update, and a look at what is listening. First steps on Windows
3
Your own admin account, Network Level Authentication, a lockout policy, and the Remote Desktop rules in Windows Firewall scoped to your addresses. Keep the console open while you work: a wrong scope ends the session you are typing in. Hardening Remote Desktop, Windows Firewall

Windows Server uses more memory for itself than a minimal Linux install, so we start Windows jobs on Mini (4 GB) rather than Nano (2 GB). A remote desktop or a trading terminal starts there, a .NET app with its database on Starter (6 GB), and a game server on whatever the calculator gives for its game and player count.
Yes, like every port. Traffic passes 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation capacity, then Clouduxe Prism on the host, which has a validator for the Remote Desktop protocol. Protocol validation is off on a rule you add by hand: add a rule for TCP 3389 and switch it on once you can test a connection. Real sign-in attempts do speak the protocol, so harden Remote Desktop inside Windows as well.
Yes. Size it by game and player count with the calculator on this page: FiveM with 48 players starts on FusionCore. Open the game's ports in both places, a Windows Firewall rule on the server and a port rule in the panel, so the port's rate limits and protocol checks apply. The help center also recommends the Visual C++ redistributables on any server that runs a game server.
It makes your logs quieter, not your server safer: a scan of every port finds the new one in seconds. If you move it, add a panel rule for the new port, or its rate limits and protocol checks do not apply, and keep the password, Network Level Authentication, lockout and address scope doing the real work.
Mumbai, by 995 km. Dhaka is 1,889 km from Mumbai and 2,884 km from Singapore, so a round trip can be no shorter than 18.9 ms to Mumbai, against 28.8 ms to Singapore. Floors are light in fibre over the great-circle distance, not measured pings: real routes are longer.
For Dubai, Mumbai is the nearest of the three regions: 1,935 km, against 4,888 km to Limburg and 5,836 km to Singapore. The round trip from Dubai can be no shorter than 19.3 ms. Floors are light in fibre over the great-circle distance, not measured pings: real routes are longer.
The image adds nothing to the plan price, and every plan has 17 Tbps of upstream mitigation, Prism on the host and the 99.99% SLA. The Deploy buttons on this page order in Mumbai.
